AVASH Trust launches a comprehensive and sustainable tribal development initiative in Paschim Bardhaman with a clear focus on children’s creativity, women’s empowerment, education continuity, health awareness, and economic self-reliance. After an in-depth community meeting with local stakeholders, AVASH Trust finalized a structured action plan to ensure long-term grassroots impact, beginning with an International Drawing Competition for children.
Community-Led Decisions for Sustainable Development
AVASH Trust engaged directly with community members, educators, guardians, and local youth to design practical and need-based interventions. The following key decisions guide the first phase of implementation:
1. International Drawing Competition for Children
AVASH Trust will organize a drawing competition for children aged 5 to 15 years, with age-wise categories and an expected participation of 20–30 children.
This initiative will:
-
Encourage creativity and imagination
-
Build confidence and artistic expression
-
Offer tribal children a platform for global cultural representation
AVASH Trust will launch this competition as the starting point of the outreach initiative.

2. Health Awareness Camp
AVASH Trust will conduct a Health Awareness Camp to address pressing health concerns within the community. The camp will focus on:
-
Preventive healthcare practices
-
Women’s and children’s health
-
Nutrition, hygiene, and early diagnosis awareness

3. Community Library Initiative
AVASH Trust will establish a Community Library to strengthen reading habits and lifelong learning. The library will include:
-
Comic books
-
Storybooks
-
Age-appropriate educational materials
A dedicated caretaker will manage daily operations, maintain a register, and ensure smooth book circulation.

4. Strengthening Early Education at Morcha Sishu Sikhya Kendra
The Trust received a proposal to approach the local administration for appointing a teacher at Morcha Sishu Sikhya Kendra.
AVASH Trust will actively pursue this request to reinforce foundational education for young children.
5. Learning Support for School Dropout Children
AVASH Trust initiated to conduct regular classes for children who dropped out of school.
This program will:
-
Reconnect children with education
-
Improve academic confidence
-
Create local employment opportunities
6. Skill Development Programs for Women
Women from the community expressed strong interest in parlour training and stitching and tailoring programs.
AVASH Trust will design and implement skill-based training modules that support income generation and financial independence.

A Long-Term Commitment to Sustainable Growth
AVASH Trust prioritizes sustainable development over short-term assistance. Each initiative emphasizes community participation, accountability, and long-term impact.
The Trust will begin implementation with the Drawing Competition, followed by phased execution of education, health, library, and skill development programs.
Creating a Future of Dignity and Self-Reliance
AVASH Trust believes that strong communities grow through empowered children and economically independent women. By nurturing young minds and strengthening local skills, the Trust continues to build pathways toward dignity, opportunity, and self-reliance for every tribal household.
